Camping etc. is always a possibility but beware the dangers in walking up the 199 steps, after dark, to those sites beyond the abbey, and therefore the church.. Took that walk about three times, latish-on. Each time I heard a tapping from the graveyard that surrounds the church. On the third night I just had to find out what it was. On rounding the church corner I espied a huddled up grey figure at a headstone. On approaching I saw it was an old chap. He had a mason's hammer in one hand and a stone chisel in the other. "Eh what's tha doin' lad?" I enquired. "Silly buggars spelt me name wrong." came the reply. I left, rapidly.
