Thread Name: Origins: Momma Don't Allow? / Mama Don't 'Low
Subject: Lyr Add: MY BABE (Mississippi Fred McDowell)
Mississippi Fred McDowell recorded a song called MY BABE, which has the same structure, and nearly the same tune, as MAMA DON'T ALLOW. I posted it back in the thread called Lyr Add: Rounder Collection 'Hills Of Home', but it bears repeating here:

MY BABE
(Fred McDowell/Tradition Music, BMI)

My babe, she don't stand no cheating, oh, my babe.
Oh, no, she don't stand no cheating, my babe.
Oh, well, she don't stand no cheating.
She don't stand none o' this midnight creeping.
Oh, my babe, she's a true little baby, now, my babe.

(Repeat first verse.)

You know, she don't stand no foolin', oh, my babe.
Oh, well, she don't stand no foolin', my babe.
My baby don't stand no foolin'.
When she's mad there ain't no coolin',
Oh, my babe.

As sung by Mississippi Fred McDowell & Johnny Woods on their eponymous album, Rounder 2007. Also in the collection "Hills of Home," Rounder CD AN 18/19.
