Plato claimed that we got all our concepts that way, but others merely shrug and argue that we ONLY have a concept of 'two' from having seen "twoness" in reality and abstracting it FROM real things...and from there it is only a step to assigning 'twoness', etc. to things we have NEVER seen..and away we go!
