I would say that 'pleasing' is a subset of 'impressive'. How can a song be impressive and not be pleasing. But a wonderful quiet song can be pleasing without being impressive. Don't try to impress people. You're in competition with everything they ever heard. Besides, some one who insists on being impressed probably has no taste, anyway.
