Once in Santa Fe, I went to a concert at which David Bromberg opened for Joan Armatrading. I really like each's music, but talk about a different crowd. David's gig was practically destroyed by Joan's rowdy crowd who had no interest in this "hippie" when they were ready to hear the power version of "I Will Walk Under Ladders."

And when she came out, that was the first one she did -- the sound was so loud it made my solar plexus vibrate. It was wonderful, but very, very loud, and very unlike anything BRomberg performed.
