There is a tune which features throughout "Brassed Off" which is the same one as was used for "Dalesman's Litany". I preseumed then that it must have originated as favourite brass band tune before being fitted to the words(was it by Brian Dewhurst?)Can anyone put me right on this? I hate to show my ignorance as I have fond memories as a youngster being taken to the local parks on summer evenings to hear the various Colliery Bands performing.
