The other night I watched the news on TV originating, I believe, in Seattle- there was a small segment on a current problem there with spiders. 'Hobo' Spiders is what they are called, and the newscaster said that because of the weather/season/whatever? they're there in record numbers this year. They showed a supporating sore and said that a bite could send you to the hospital.
