Art-- I lived in Oregon for just a year and sometimes I find myself aching in the same way for the Oregon coast. I absolutely loved taking my dogs to the beach and walking with the surf pounding and the mists rolling in. I think if I'd lived that direction instead of Portland I'd still be there. I might head out that direction again some day. My son is in Seattle now and he and his lady want me out on the Left Coast, so ... maybe in a couple of years. (Kat, if you reveal my plans to leave wyoming sometime in my lifetime, I'll be steamed! ;-] )

Isn't it wonderful and poignant how some places just burrow into you and always create a longing in your heart when you remember them? I hardly ever get nostalgic for Santa Fe -- except for the wonderful weather which meant I could ride my bike just about the year round -- but I often feel lonesome for Oregon.
