Have just re-read this thread and I would HIGHLY recommend that everyone get a book called Wise Women: A celebration of their insights, courage, and beauty by Joyce Tenneson. A wonderful Mudcatter sent it to me as a gift and it is by far one of the most beautiful, meaningful, validating, celebratory books I've ever seen. It is full of sepia tri-toned art photos of real wimmin with their words printed opposite. If I could, I'd give every woman I know a copy of it, esp. those approaching center-age.
