Thread Name: Lyr/Chords Req: Dreams of the Everyday Housewife
Subject: Chords Add: DREAMS OF THE EVERYDAY HOUSEWIFE
Here are the chords, written out in the key of G: (Verse) Gmaj7/Gmaj7/Gmaj7/Gmaj7/ Cmaj7/Cmaj7/Cmaj7/Cmaj7/ Cmja7/Cmaj7/Gmaj7/Cmaj7/ B7/Cmaj7/B7/B7/
Gmaj7/Gmaj7/Gmaj7/Gmaj7/ Cmaj7/Cmaj7/Cmaj7/Cmaj7/ Cmja7/Cmaj7/Gmaj7/Cmaj7/ B7/Cmaj7/D7/D7/C/D7 (Chorus)(use the funny fingerings:Am7 for C, and slide it up two frets for D) G/C/D/C/G/C/D/D7/ C/D/C/D7/Gmaj7/C/D/C/ (Key Change)
The second verse and chorus are a full step higher than the first(in A)--just play barre chords--then there is a chorus a full step higher(in B) and another chorus a full step higher than that(C#)
Easiest to play it all as barre chords: Gmaj7: 3-4-4-3-x-x Cmaj7: 3-3-5-4-5-x B7: 2-2-4-2-4-2 D7: 5-5-7-5-7-5
simply because it is so easy to slide up two frets for each key change and not worry about any other fingerings--
This song seems like the inspiration for The Eagle's "Lying Eyes" --it has that same Gmaj7 sound at the beginning and all through, and is a "she thinks about what might have been" song--
