So the Irish arrived in Scotland completely peacably, and some years later virtually all the placename in the area they occupied are in the Gaelic new language they brought with them, and nobody speaks the old language anymore. Do you really think that is evidence of a totally peaceful visit in the Dark Ages? I would guess there might have been just the teensiest bit of coercion involved.
