consider the old saw .."Power is much too important to be entrusted to those who seek it"

and in these times, the process of seeking power has been refined by media tricks and Gerrymandering etc., fueled by money, and that those with the most nefarious schemes are the hungriest for power to promote them.... therefore power is most often acquired by those who combine the most dangerous combining of cleverness with self interest.

Is there a solution? Not exactly...but most of those reading this live in societies which DO have some system for public participation thru voting. So, like Greg F said right above here..^ "They need to get off their arses and do something for themselves ..."
