In the mystery novel I am reading right now, Partner in Crime. by J. A. Vance, one of the "dicks," i.e. Special Investigators works for the fictional "Special Homicide Investigation Team" aka S.H.I.T.

The character sounds like a Mudcatter when giving the reader his take on the bureaucrats who dreamed that one up, of course, without realising the acronym.

She's a pretty funny writer. She's also got a character named Harry I. Ball! Worthy of a Mudcat Tavern thread, that one, imo!

So, do these stodgy type boards allow one to talk about balls?
