Thread Name: BS: The Mother of all BS threads
Subject: RE: BS: The Mother of all BS threads
I fail to see what you mean, Amos... :-)

In order to fail to exist, something must perforce exist, because if it didn't exist it could not experience failure! Failure is not experienced in a total vacuum, it implies a prior field of action, so to speak, upon which field one endeavours to succeed or fail at something.

Now, I can see that something could fail to continue existing on a given timeline, but how can it fail to exist, period?

Further to that, linear time as we know it is itself contained within the eternal NOW which is inclusive of all time...therefore although something may fail to exist at a given moment on the timeline it cannot fail to exist in the larger context of all Eternity.

Anything that is capable of failure HAS to exist!

Dontcha love this thread? :-)

And who is the scrawny old harpy that RR is referring to? If this insult is directed at my maiden aunt, I shall be vexed! If it is directed toward Orillia's most senior town librarian, then I must admit it's accurate.
