I guess anything like a good home truth will make you unpopular with someone ...
The song won first prize in the Bush Music Club's "Original Words and Tune" section of our Song Competition (about 1980 ...?) ... and I suspect I was the first to publish it (in BMC magazine Mulga Wire.
I can imagine the truth of the song was less popular in some other quarters!
