DAY TRIP TO BLACKPOOL


Didn't we have a Funny old time, the day we went to Blackpool.
A miserable day, we got drunk on the way and spent our money on chips and bingo
Hour after hour we sat in the bar and drank a gallon of cider
And on the way back I was sick over Jack and the rain came down.


Eric and Sid had bet us a quid we could climb the Blackpool Tower,
But Newcastle Brown made Eric fall down, so we went into a Wimpy Bar.
Then Sidney was ill all over the bill, we had to call a waiter.
He said we could stay 'cause we couldn't pay and the rain came down.

Old Uncle Bill, he wanted a thrill so we took him to the fun fair
He went on the slides and all of the rides and told his joke to the laughing policeman
Gadding about had tired him out so we went into the Waxworks
Where he fell asleep – so off we did creep and the rain came down

Sidney and me were in need of a wee, so we climbed upon the band-stand.
Re-cycled booze all over our shoes and quite a bit on the band as well.
We jumped in the car, but we didn't get far, a Policeman pulled us over.
We were out of our brain, 'cause we'd gone down by train, and the rain came down.
