On the Mouse, Pirates, Pinnochio, and Royalties...
Disney did not invent the little puppet, they plagarised the idea from an original Italian story, which may have been, I think, still under copyright. The town where the author was born has been turned into a museum, with a library of the hundreds of versions of the story in print in languages all over the world.
And the original (where the little cricket dies!) is far better that the Mouse's version... :-)
