Subject: BS: The Globalist - REAL journalism!
I heard Stephan Richter, Editor-in-Chief of The Globalist, speak on CSPAN, today. I was very impressed with what he had to say about the changes in the American media and global views in general. I consider this to be a very worthwhile online news source, based on what I heard from him and from what I've seen, so far, on their website.

One of the things he said was American journalists, including the well-known top-of-the-heap ones, have all lost their objectivity by being a tad too cozy with those they are supposed to report on. He said they'd become cheerleaders for Bush and the war in Iraq, essentially abdicating the role of the Fourth Estate.

He also reminded us that a journalist should give us three things, news, analysis, and opinion, in order for us to make our own informed decisions.

Here's what their homepage has to say:

The Globalist provides a daily account of the key issues before the global community. Combining cutting-edge analysis with first-rate storytelling, The Globalist covers the most important issues, people, companies and organizations shaping the global economy, politics and culture.
