I had the pleasure of seeing Grappelli in the 70's, wish I could have seen Django!
I have a video tape (on loan) of the 2002 "Samois sur Seine" festival in France. The headline stars, Bireli Lagrene, Patrick Saussois, The Rosenberg Trio and an American band "Pearl Django" are all tremendous, but the real stars are the guys on the campsite, caught on camera, jamming together with gypsy guitars, double bass and fiddles.
There's so much talent lying around, undiscovered.

Another great discovery on the tape is a young German guitarist called Joscho Stephan. I'm still scratching my head in wonder.
