Thanks for posting that, John--it gives the real Fred Neill sound--

When it comes to the bridge, instead of the Em thing that you do, I do this:

X-0-0-4-3-3   (I' goin where the )

then slide it up two frets:

X-0-0-6-5-5   (Sun keeps shinin')

X-0-0-7-7-5   (through the pourin')

X-0-0-5-7-5(rain)

Also, and just to be difficult, I think that at the beginning the

X-0-0-7-7-0 to

X-0- 0-6-7-0

thing repeats only twice, and the third time, it is :

X-0-0-6-7-0 to    ( I )
X-0-0-4-7-0 once and then:    (don't hear a)

X-0-0-4-7-0 to (word they're)

X-0-0-5-7-0(saying)--

This, at least, from the Fred Neill version. The "Hollywood" version, by Nilsson, is in E, but it seems likely that the guitar was in D capoed at the second fret, with an orchestra pasted over it.

After years of reading Tommy Tedesco's Guitar Player Magazine column decribing how he did things in Hollywood studio sessions, I wouldn't be surprised if he had played it on a Tiple that had been tuned up--Speaking of retuning, for you forgot to mention that that the E string can be dropped to D and played through the whole thing--
