Yes McGrath! I remember seeing them on "Parkinson" I think it was, and I think there may have been a documentary as well. Think it was mid 70`s? As I was an exclusively classical musician at the time the direct comparison between the wonderful fluidity of Grapelli`s swing and Yehudi Menuhin`s stunted arpeggios and mechanical scales was the start in me of a whole new respect for musicians "outside" the classical world, and that in no way takes away from my respect of Menhuin`s classical playing. As well as being a great chat show, I have memories of some wonderful musical "moments" in Parkinson during that era. Wonder if the BBC do a compilation of Parkinson "Golden Moments"? I would have that for Christmas!!
