Thanks for doing all that research for me. I actually did reply to the guy's e-mail and asked if he'd send me a link but haven't heard back from him.

I find it more mysterious now having read that question about it on the link you sent me and not seeing any reply.

I guess I should just take a chance, follow Greg's advice and send a CD. I suppose my question was really more general even though I didn't phrase it that way. Really, I'm wondering whether anyone's aware of any larger scam going on out there. I can't imagine what it might be, but as I said, I'm a songwriter and we're not the sharpest bulbs in the chandelier.

It looks like the worst thing that can happen is that I'll lose a CD, mailing costs and a little bit of dignity. The best that can happen is that I'll get a review in a German music magazine.
