As long as we've ambled into technicolor cowboy territory, I'd like to follow up with that touching and informative ballad from the Riders in the Sky, "That's How the Yodel Was Born".*

I know I can't sustain those high notes as long or as well as the inimitable Ranger Doug Green, but it should give all of us yodelers and wannabes out there a chance to ululate to our hearts content. (Might even get the coyotes to join in...)

*For those not familiar, the tune tells the tale of a singing cowboy who roped and rode a mean bronc as best he could, until:

"The bronco went up and the cowboy came down,

They met at the old saddle horn.

It made a deep impression, you could say it changed his life,

And that's how the yodel was born!"
