But Mary dared me....
Honest Rick, this was a chance comment that took wings and flew. Kathy Westra asked if I was going to send you footage and I laughingly said I wasn't sure how to send it because neither format was playable...maybe I'd just send a DVD player... Kathy immediately jumped and said "We could do that, all of us." For the rest of the weekend I met amazing people.
I had a great lunch with musicians who seemed amazed that I knew that focusing on the playing was more important than the face. ( Well not with Mick, the Damn music stand hides his hands 90% of the time... Maybe he just doesn't want you to see that F chord..)But after hearing you say that you should be able to play along watching a lead player I knew that was what I should do ( or try)BG
I'm pretty sure it was Bob Zentz who commented on remembering you at one of his concerts watching his hands til you knew how it was done. One unnamed concert singer allowed me to tape despite hesitation (shyness) and did great. Mick is going to help edit a final cut and I should get it to him next week . After that two weeks to finished product.
But mercy all, I don't particularly know what I'm doing it may not be polished, but theres a lot of fun and love involved.
I was told I passed the three taping rules well, 1) buy my CD 2) be quiet 3) sing along anyway... But I figure you and Heather should have been feeling the warmth in Toronto. It must have taken a direct flight because the outer air was cold down where we were...
I'm consolidating things now and trying to get rid of my most obvious mistakes.... In close to 8 hours of taping my right arm muscles are a tad worked out and it occaisionally shows.
