Bobert, if you don't talk much, she may be filling space. It may be a sort of invitation to a chorus. It would be polite to repeat it WITH her. Maybe, in a more bluesy tradition, you could interject comments in between the first time and the repeats.
Sort of like: P-Vine: "I talked to Marge on the phone today, and she sounded pretty good. Yep..." You: "TELL me how she sounded!" P-Vine "She sounded pretty good. She said her cousin's boss got a milkshake from McD's. Yep, he..." You: "SHAKE it, mama!" P-Vine: "...got a milkshake from McD's and wouldn't you know, there was a big ol' dead fly in it. Can you believe it, there was..." You: "TESTIFY, baby!" P-Vine: "...a fly in it."
