Barbara, it's easy. Just click on the button at the bottom of the Mediaring telephone, which, when your cursor is over it, says "Voice Messages", second button from the right as you look at it. Then hit the record button which comes up, in the center near the bottom. Then choose to send by email, enter the address, go to the top, choose record (red button), speak and viola! You can even listen to your message before choosing send.

Otherwise, instead of choosing email, you can dial in the phone number you know someone's computer is hooked up to and on-line with, and talk to them, as Alison and I did tonight. There is a way to call someone on their regular phone, too, but I haven't explored that and don't know if any charges apply or not.
