When I was a kid.... Trilogy of Terror. The one with the little African statue chasing Karen Black around her apartment with a steak knife. It's all laughable now, but it was scary back then.

As for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark... sorry, Peg; even as a kid, I found that one laughable. Didn't understand why Kim Darby didn't just punt the little boogers across the yard. But I see that a re-make is in the works.
