Here in Western Pennsylvania, October 30th is Devil's Night. This is the night when young idiots go out and egg cars, spray shaving cream all over the place, trim trees with toilet paper, and smash pumpkins. Not nice, not to be encouraged, but harmless.
I know in Detroit, they go beyond petty vandalism, and set fires. Definitely NOT harmless.
Now, I'm wondering where else is Devil's Night celebrated, and how, and does anyone know the origins of the custom?
