One of the ways I found to seriously cut down on my costs and live on a LOT less is not to own a car. I have not had a car for years and I do just fine and what a difference it makes to my disposable income. Cars eat money and are very destructive. It drives me nuts to see people driving great bug SUV's from one Suburb to another.
