For as long as I can remember we've called it Cabbage Night here in NJ. Many supermarkets here in NJ won't sell eggs and shaving cream on this night.

My dad used to be a custodian at the local high school and every year he would be required to work on Cabbage Night as well as Halloween. The custodians would walk the perimeter of the school until midnight to make sure the school did not get egged. Of course somebody would show up in the middle of the night and throw a couple dozen eggs at the place.
