1950s "Invaders from Mars" terrified me as a child. I took my son to see the updated version and he was frightened for the same reason - you could not trust any of the people you are raised to trust. Plus falling in a hole and getting aneedle in the back of the neck.

The original "Cape Fear" terrified me as well. I could never stand Robert Mitchum in any role after that. Once again, the update was too graphic and left nothing to the imagination. Do modern viewers not think or prefer not to?
