The scariest film ever made is the original Dutch version of "The Vanishing", also known as "Spoorloos".

If you've seen the extremely poor U.S. version they've already ruined it for you.

If you haven't, try watching the original, late at night, on your own. But make sure you have something handy to help you get to sleep afterwards.
