When President Reagan went to Ireland to visit his alleged ancestral famoly home in Ballylooby in Tipperary, they set up all kinds of security barriers and cordons around the whole place. So when my father - in his eighties, and living a few miles away - was out driving, he ran into them and the Gardai stopped him and said he couldn't go that way.

So he told them he wasn't going to be told where to go in his own country, because of some visiting Yank president, and he drove on through. And noone tried to stop him. And it didn't make the papers.
