Gang, when I started this, it was with the simpleass idea just to poke a little at bbc who I've been having a lot of fun with lately.....several running gags back and forth, you know, that sort of nonsense. I was going to put BS in front, but that wasn't quite strong enough and Max doesn't have a category labeled, "Who Could Possibly Give a Turkey." My expectation was that it would get some cute one liners and some yeas and nays and it would just be another little "bob & weave" with bbc. Instead...

This place never ceases to amaze me. Great, not just cute, one liners, Jeri's insightful comment, Big RiB's humorous but caring sentiment, El Swanno's "College Catalogue," Bert's emoticon, song parodies by TRUE MASTERS!!!............Simply Amazing.

The individual and "collective" intelligence, creativity, caring and concern, humor, knowledge, thoughtfulness........let's just say mindpower and humaneness......around this place can surely not be matched...............Which is a bit frightening.

Am I the only one who wonders why all these outstanding people have gathered in this place? Our love of music brought us together.....but the things that bond us are so complex............Ya' know, I don't think that any of us are out setting the world on fire financially and most of us don't care. Most of us have tired of dealing with the nabobs of the world and have somehow found a place, not just to be "musical," but somewhere to unleash the mind among folks who understand. I said once that, out in the real world, I was sick of dealing with the "lowest common denominator"......and around here, I often think, "My gawd, I AM the lowest, common denominator!" The ability of this group to THINK is unbelievable and to show honest loving and compassion is without peer.

But in a way it does........Somehow now, more than before, he does represent the best of what we are.
