"Political correctness has made hash of a lot of good songs. Even "My Old Kentucky Home," another Stephen Foster classic and the state song of Kentucky, has been "whitewashed" to read "'Tis summer, the people are gay." Which brings us to another bastardized term. Remember when "gay" meant "happy?"I don't suppose you could ever make "Kentucky Babe" politically correct, without doing a complete rewrite.
Get off your soapbox, Whip. You can't change it.
