Sorry to hear that Lucy. Hamm's kitten Pansie went the same way a few months back - and the only consolation is to think of the happy life they led & the freedom they enjoyed to be cattish. A cat you keep indoors won't get run over, but I think they enjoy a full life (with all its risks) a lot more.
