Thank you for your remark about the songs being good. There are many of them I really like--but many were written when I was a teenager. I did the vocal tracks when my jaw was mending--I'd broken it and smashed my teeth. That's why some of the vocals sound so crappy (not that I was ever all that good a singer). I was in Canada when the production was done, and I heard the album after it was released. I was disappointed. (I was somewhat vindicated in my own mind when we did a recording about ten years later in Toronto. It was much better.) I'm thinking that we got caught up in the times (60s) and although that's no excuse, the fault is mine and mine alone. The fellows who did the production were and are friends of mine. Time doesn't change some things. The album was shot down anyway. I think it wasn't necessary for me to use the word f*** on it, but you know, I did. I was 21 and full of piss and vinegar. If I had to do it all over again would I do things differently? You bet. Can I? No!

Fortunatey, it's not available anymore. I cringe when I listen to mush of it, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Justine's Blues, Letters to Lucille #1 and LtL#2. The rest--well, sometimes we have to live with the mistakes of our youth. Lord knows, I've got lots of that to do. I hope this has answered your question, Candyman.

PS I also like Mary, You Are My Friend and the slant the producers took. That's the only one that I half like sound effects on. What can I say? Bruce
