Hell's bells, if a member of the Royal Family were overhead letting a discreet fart in church, there are people around who would leap up and scream "Royal scandal! Royal scandal!"

All anyone knows so far is that there was an "alleged incident" (nobody will say what the incident was, if anything, indeed, happened at all) and it is further alleged that Prince Charles was involved, which he unequivocally denies. The courts have put a cork in everybody's mouth, so no one outside the "inner circle" knows what the incident (if any) involved. So what's left? Speculation.

Does it strike anybody else besides me that people are just assuming that it (a double assumption, since they are assuming that an "incident" actually took place, which has not been confirmed) involves something of a sexual nature? Especially of a "deviant" sexual nature? Leaping to this conclusion when there is nothing to go on is really pretty pathetic, and it says more about the people doing the leaping than it does about Prince Charles.

Isn't it a pity that so many people have so little to do of any real importance that they can spend all their time and energy speculating loudly and gleefully about what other people may or may not do with their wee-wees?
