The thing about the odd slow acoustic ballad is very notable too. Metalheads find it very cool to do that occasionally, and it helps if the ballad is either about mystical sword/sorcery kind of stuff or is romantic and tender...then just when they've lulled their awed audience into that quieter mood...they BLOW 'EM OUTTA THEIR SEATS with a pyrotechnic burst of screaming guitar riffs and exploding visual effects. Yeah, BABY!
