Back to the lollypop-I quizzed mom, she first heard it in perhaps junior high - 1920s or 30s in Tacoma, Washington. She only ever heard one verse. As I said, it was no longer around in my worldwide Army brat childhood. I found 10 good links on google, all of them say it is a camp song. I will put it here - the links I followed all included advertising.


Lollipop

Oh I'd rather suck on a lemon drop
then try my luck with a lollipop,
cause a lollipop I always drop
and it gets all over icky.

I've tried and tried, but still I can't find,

The others are remarkably similar, one calls it a 1970s song, so in some areas it must still be common.
