I don't remember a lot about it -- afterall, it was 30 years ago! But I do remember not being able to think clearly for several weeks after they were born. I had trouble reading a map and calculating the amount of formula needed each day. As best I remember, the only cure for preeclampsia is childbirth. I was given a drug which helped me diurese Sp? (lose water) when I went to the hospital. I gained 48 pounds with my pregnancy and lost 54 before I left the hospital! I was so swollen I couldn't wear shoes, (no Kentucky jokes, Spaw) so I managed to slip on an old pair, unlaced, and left and them in the trash can at the hospital. I also broke out in hives the last week.

I was ordered to bed rest the last week and watched the Watergate hearings live.
