Scenario at our house:

The phone rings. I answer. "Hello." "Hello." "Helllllloooo-ooow!"
"Thank you so much for calling; always good to hear from you."

My wife: "Who was that!"

Me:       "Our old friend."

We get these completely silent calls regularly, up to three times a day, maybe. Tele-Zapper doesn't bother them.
