Allan S. is correct. Richard Blaustein did take undergraduate summer classes at Yale, and may have gone on to graduate school there (we lost touch after Brooklyn College). A folklore scholar as well as a fine fiddler, he's on the faculty at Eastern Tennessee State University where he runs the bluegrass program (you can get a degree in it).
At least that's what I've read about him.
