Well, I suspect the chipboard case is toast... I got midew in a chip board desk once, and even after cleaning it, on humid days you could still smell it...

As is, I suspect, the plush lining in the cases as well... It's like getting mildew in a cars appolstery... the only way to really get rid of it is to reappolster...
