December 2, 2003: Today, we focus on a fascinating yet disturbing phenomenon that is truly shocking. It's a growing trend sometimes referred to as "bug chasing," which describes people who want to deliberately infect themselves with the HIV virus. Although common among gay men, it's not 100% exclusive to the gay community, and it's a frightening reality that there are really people out there "hunting down" the virus and intentionally becoming infected. Even more shocking…there is a hidden culture of people called "gift givers," the people who infect a "bug chaser" with "the gift" of HIV."
