Actually, Tim Russert asked the question of one of NBC (I think, or maybe it was Washington Post) reporters who was on the plane about whether the coverage should be considered reporting, or if they weren't just along to give political aid to Bush.

It was a good question the reporter then proceeded to gloss over, ignore, and left unanswered.

There has been a lot of buzz about this inside the beltway, it just isn't making it into the mainstream media.
