Saturday mornings (from 10 until it gets too hot) there's and acoustic jam in Denton (30 minutes north of Dallas) on the south lawn of the courthouse square. Usually anywhere from 6 to 20 or so musicians show up. The type of music depends on who shows up - usually country, bluegrass, oldtime, and gospel. Less singer/songwriter and origial, but everyone's welcome and usually there are enough folks there to break up into smaller groups interested in particular types of music.
