I view it as an art or labor of love. Treating it as a craft may reduce it to "the bottom line" what you get out for what you put in. If you believe that the outcome isn't worth the input then you shouldn't bother in the first place. Also your talents in the area may limit you to apprentice or journeyman and you would have to look at it from the perspective of never achieving mastery of the "craft". I'd be depressed about that. As it is I love the music that I make and thats good enough for me.
