It's the print of George Washington's right ear. This is how you identified yourself in the War of Independence, because they had not yet mastered fingerprinting, genetic coding, or anal implants that send radio signals. You simply pressed the side of your head against an ink blotter and then pressed your ear against a pad of paper. George Washington had rather big ears, which is why he grew that long hair. Most people are quite unaware that his right ear was normally inkstained. The British used red ink, the American Revolutionaries used blue.
