We were incredibly lucky and we know it. If the deer's head had been lower down in relation to the windshield, one or both of us in the front seats might have been skewered by the antlers.

Amos, I've been hit by a drunk motorcyclist (or at leas my car has - different car) as well. Of the two experiences, I don't know if I really have a preference except that I think it would be less traumatic to see a deer die after it hit my car than to see a drunk motorcyclist die after hitting my car. Fortunately the drunk who hit my car wasn't seriously hurt, or I think I would still be having nightmares about that accident.
